Sofía del Pedregal Moscatelli (b. 1989, Concepción, Chile) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Santiago, Chile, whose work spans photography, video installation, drawing, painting, poetry, and artist's books. Her practice explores the intersections of memory, materiality, and landscape, drawing on her deep engagement with abstraction and conceptual art. She earned her BFA in Visual Arts with a major in Painting from the Universidad de Chile (Santiago) in 2013 and completed her MFA in Art Studio at the University of California-Davis in 2022, where she refined her approach through experimental techniques and cross-cultural dialogues.

Sofía has been the recipient of several prestigious awards and fellowships, including the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture Fellowship (2024) and the Monson Arts Residency Award (2024). Her work has been recognized internationally with grants such as the 2023 FONDART National Arts grant in Chile, and she was honored with the Fay Nelson Award from the University of California-Davis in 2021. Her solo exhibitions, including "Lo Abierto" (2019) at Andrea Brunson Space Gallery in Santiago and "Cajonera" (2016) at NAC Gallery, have established her as a prominent voice in contemporary Chilean art. She has exhibited at major museums in Santiago (Chile), such as the MAC Contemporary Art Museum and the MAVI Museum of Visual Arts. She also participated in Environmental Alterations, curated by Loosen Art in Rome, and Closed Door at Gallery 1111 in Budapest (as Meetings.proj).In 2023, her essay The Standard Galactic Alphabet was published in Ojo al charqui: escritos de pintores contemporáneos chilenos by Universidad de Chile Press. Sofía’s work continues to evolve through international residencies, including the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (2024), Monson Arts Residency (2024), and LaVALLE Residency in Italy (2023), where she investigates the relationship between place, history, and artistic production.
